Alice B Callister

November 3, 1928 — February 2, 2016

Alice Blanche Ericson Callister, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed peacefully from this life at her home in Springville, Utah on February 2, 2016. The seventh of eight children, Mom was born on November 3, 1928 to Dindas Graham and Carrie Blanche Ericson. Shortly after graduating from Tooele High School, she married her sweetheart, Robert Elwin Callister, to whom she was later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS temple.

As a trained dental assistant Mom first worked for Dr. Jay Delamar, and later as an oral surgeon assistant for Dr. DaCosta Clark for over 20 years. In 1958 Mom and Dad moved their family to Springville, where they spent the rest of their life together. Mom was a talented artist and seamstress who made and dressed handcrafted porcelain dolls, several of which won awards at regional and state exhibits and doll shows. She taught doll classes to friends, neighbors, and family members, many of whom were recipients of her beautiful dolls. Mom was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many callings, including president of the Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society organizations. She also enjoyed compiling a ward newspaper and serving as a ward librarian. One of the highlights of her service was the time she and Bob spent as stake missionaries in the Provo City Tabernacle. Mom loved life, and is loved by all who know her.

She is survived by her five children: Susan (Terry) Edwards, Midway, UT; John (Katie) Callister, Salem, UT; Terryl Miner, Tooele, UT; Robert (Mary) Callister, Las Vegas, NV; and Camille Callister, of Springville. She leaves a legacy of 17 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, son-in-law Jeff Miner, and her husband Bob.

Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing in her honor on Sunday, February 7, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 South, Springville, UT. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 11 a.m. following a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Spring Creek 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, 350 N 400 E Springville, UT. Interment will be at the Historic Springville City Cemetery, 200 W 400 S.

The family wishes to express gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff at the Provo Dialysis Center, who cared generously for mom in her final years.
