On Thursday, August 25, 2016 Andrew (Andy) Budd Jensen, age 37, placed himself into the loving arms of our Savior shedding his physical and emotional pain. Andy was born January 11,1979 in Payson, Utah. He is the son of Karl and Carol Jensen of Springville, Utah. He was raised in Springville along with his 7 siblings. Andy is a righteous member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Andy demonstrates the unconditional warmth and care of the Savior, a radiant enthusiasm for life and a passionate sense of family and friends.
Andy was educated in Springville, attending elementary, Jr. and Sr. High Schools. He was a graduate of Springville High School where he excelled in Red Devil athletics participating in baseball and football. He attended Snow College furthering his education while playing baseball. Andy also attended Utah Valley University pursuing his degree in education.
Andy was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, cooking and exploring. Andy worked in the construction trades early in his adult life. He was a dependable, loyal worker. Andy found his vocational passion working as a mentor/trainer, coach and tri-athlete at Telos Residential Treatment Center & Academy. He discovered his ability to guide, mentor and coach youth along the path of healing.
The greatest love of his life is his daughter Aspen. He adored teaching her about family, tradition, love of life, and a strong sense of purpose and self-worth. Everything Andy did was driven by his love and concern for Aspen. Aspen is Andy's wild mustang.
Adventure coupled with fearless enthusiasm marked the experiences Andy shared with his friends. Andy loved those with whom he associated. He considered himself a wealthy man having so many genuine, caring friends in his life. His charisma and emotional magnetism drew people to him. Where ever he went there was certain to be stampede of kids following him.
Andy is survived by his daughter Aspen of St. George, UT., Parents Karl and Carol Jensen of Springville. Brothers Adam (Sherri) Jensen of Springville and Aaron (Jennifer) Jensen of Menifee, Ca. Sisters Kelly Jean (Joseph) Schoppe of Ephraim, UT., Audrey Wilson of Springville, Robyn Jensen of Springville and Arielle Jensen of Draper, UT. Andy has numerous uncles and aunts who have influenced his life. Some of Andy's closest surviving friends are his cousins.
Andy is preceded in death by his Sister Mariah Carol Jensen, Grandparents Oliver Budd and Viola Jensen, Earl and Leigh Gardner and Grandfather John Dennis Simonson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Springville 3rd Ward Chapel located at 355 E. Center Street in Springville. Friends and family may visit at a viewing held Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville or Thursday at the church 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. prior to the services.
