Carma Ruth Wilkin Dean passed away peacefully with family by her side the morning of April 17, 2017.  She is survived by her husband of Springville, Morrell Dickerson Dean.  She was the mother of five children. Larry (Ronnalynn) Highland, Utah, John Alton, Springville, Utah, Ronald (Jennifer) Dean of American Fork, and Joanne (Brent) Stone, West Point, Utah.  Julie Dean, deceased.  Carma has one surviving sibling, Colleen (Jim) Robinson, Alpine, Utah.
Carma has 16 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren.  Many called her grandma.  She loved her family first and foremost.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout her life.  Carma and Morrell served in the temple for 9 years.  She loved our Savior Jesus Christ with all of her heart.  She is now in the embrace of his loving arms.  She was loved and revered by all who knew her.  Her life was full of service and good works for neighbors, friends, and especially family.
She graduated from Lehi High School in 1949.  In her younger years, she was a gifted athlete. She was recruited as a 9th grade student to play basketball on the varsity, and played all four years.  She was a class officer, ran track, played tennis, and was a cheerleader.  She was an avid BYU and Utah Jazz fan.  She has a picture with her and Matt Harpring hanging proudly in her home.  She was an official scorekeeper for Little League Baseball for many years.  She attended every game that her children ever participated in.  No one loved sports more!
She was a member of the famed Musettes singing group for 18 years sharing her talents and beautiful soprano voice.  She worked at Sprouse Reitz in Springville for many years.  She made many friends and acquaintances from this period of her life.  She enjoyed her membership in her club Les Jollie Femme.  She enjoyed her dinner group with many friends.  She and her husband also enjoyed keeping an immaculate yard.
Carma was preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Zilpha Wilkin, sisters, Faye Peterson, Barbara Hunsaker, Jean Marshall, and brothers Jay and Jimmy Wilkin.
Special thanks to hospice and Deana for taking such good care of our wife and mother.
