Earl William Tuttle

April 26, 1935 — March 8, 2017

Earl William Tuttle, 81, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 26, 1935 in Springville, Utah to Byron and Emily Tuttle. He graduated from Springville High where he received a scholarship for track. He worked in the forest service for a short time and served in the National Guard. He married Laurel Ostler in the Salt Lake Temple and was married for 61 years. Earl loved the outdoors where he enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and rock hounding. He grew up on a farm where he learned to be a hard worker. If there was anything that needed to be fixed, he could do it! He was an avid gardener and was known for his beautiful flower and vegetable gardens; gardening up until even the last summer, where the care center lovingly provided a few grow boxes so he could continue his passion. It gave him great joy teaching his children and grandchildren how to fish and garden. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings throughout his life. He served as scout master for many years and as a ward clerk in the bishopric. In his later years he served by taking good care of the church building and grounds. He is survived by his wife, Laurel and six children: Ron (Jana), Bonnie (Russell), Steven, Mark (Kristen), Jan (Todd), and Amy (Ryan). 20 grandchildren and 12 great grand children. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Harold (brother) and Thelma Titcomb (sister). Special thank you to the loving, kind hearted care that he received at the Stonehenge of Springville care center. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hobble Creek West Stake Center at 555 South 600 East in Springville. Friends and family may call Sunday evening from 6-8 at the Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S. Springville and Monday from 10-11am prior to services. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
