Elmo Bert Johnson

August 31, 1936 — April 20, 2017

Elmo Bert Johnson Jr, 80, Passed away peacefully at the Heritage Hills Care Center. He had been suffering from Alzheimer’s for a long time.  Elmo was born, August 31, 1936, in Provo to Elmo Bert Johnson Sr. and Thelma Lucretia Fillmore.  He attended school in Provo, graduating from Provo High in 1954, after High School Elmo enlisted in the Army serving for 3 years in Germany.  After the Army he married Lenna Renae Smith on February 7, 1958.  Their marriage was sealed for time and all eternity in the Provo LDS Temple in October 1974 Mom passed away from cancer on March 20, 1991.  He then married Sharon Keele that marriage ended in divorce, although they remained friends afterwards. He then married Jeanette Terry that marriage also ended in Divorce.

Dad worked for Beesley Monument and Vault Co. after the Army, then went to work for Barbizon of Utah as their Maintenance Manager for nearly 13 years, He then started and ran Sierra Bonita Mfg.  After that business closed he worked in a variety of Businesses until his retirement in 1998.  Dad was actively involved in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had a very strong testimony of the gospel, our Savior and the Restoration, Dad had many callings in the church that he served faithfully in.

Elmo is survived by His Son Jeff (Yvonne) Johnson, his Daughter in law Judy Johnson 5 Grandchildren Amber Marie Sacks, Joshua Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Megan Strasburg and Seth Johnson 9 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Greatgrandchild on the way.  He survived by His Sister Nadine Wilson, his sister in law Genevieve Johnson.  Dad was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lenna, son Garth and Brother Lynn Johnson.

Graveside services at Dad’s request will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Springville.  Tuesday April 25th at 10:00 A.M.  with full military rites.

The family would like to thank Jolee, Justin and the staff at Heritage Hills Care Center for the love and care that he received there, A very special thanks to Julieann his hospice Nurse.
