F. Keith Davis

December 30, 1924 — July 22, 2017

F. Keith Davis was born December 30, 1924 in Ogden, Utah to Lester Earl and Marguerite Hanley Davis.  He passed away, Saturday, July 22, 2017, from injuries suffered from a fall.  He was 92 years old.
He grew up in Salem & Springville and graduated from Springville High School in June 1943.  During his senior year of high school, he was drafted into the Army and reported for duty right after graduation.  He served in Europe during WWII, where he fought in and survived the “Battle of the Bulge”.  His army unit liberated the first Nazi concentration camp found on the western front in WWII.
Keith married Marva Waters September 11, 1947 in the Manti Temple.  They have three children, Shauna Lyn Davis Noland (Kenny), Suzanne Davis, Thomas Keith Davis (Shirlene), 8 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.   He is preceded in death by his parents, brother L. Clark Davis (Zina), and son-in-law David S. Johnson (Shauna).
Keith worked in the construction business with his contractor father, Lester E. Davis.  They built homes and worked on many schools and churches throughout Utah.  He was an architectural draftsman, worked in accounting at U.S. Steel-Geneva Works, was a photographer and camera store owner.  Keith was never without a camera and he found great joy in documenting the many events he and Marva attended and the people they met.
Keith was active in the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, Springville Veterans Memorial Board, and was a lifelong member of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers.  He was a counselor at American Legion Boys State for 40 years.  He participated in over 1,000 military funerals for deceased veterans with the American Legion Honor Guard since WWII.  Keith spent many years speaking to groups all around Utah sharing his experiences of his service during the war.
Keith & Marva lived all their married lives in Springville.  In 2008, they were named Springville Citizens of the Year.    Everywhere they went, they made friends and loved meeting new people.  They were members of several clubs and groups that met together on a regular basis, some groups meeting together for over 50 years.
He was active in the LDS church.  He served as 1st counselor in the Elders Quorum, High Priests Secretary, Boy Scout Finance Officer, Boy Scout Merit Badge Counselor, and Home Teacher.
Keith is survived by his loving wife Marva, of 69 years.
Funeral services will be Thursday July 27 at 11:00 am in the Spring Creek 12th ward chapel, 455 N. 235 E. Springville, UT. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm at Wheeler Mortuary 211 E. 200 S. Springville, UT or Thursday at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will be at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery with military rights by the American Legion, District 4 Honor Guard.
