J Rustin Porter

October 1, 1979 — August 10, 2015

Beloved son, grandson, uncle, brother, nephew, passed away peacefully early Monday morning August 10,2015, he will be missed by all that knew him.
Born October 1, 1979 in Cedar City, Utah to Michelle (Thomas) and Robert Porter. Moved to Springville, Utah before he was one. Attended schools in Springville and graduated Springville High School with the class of 1998. He worked at Reams Grocery Store starting in 1995. In 2003 joined the Springville Volunteer Fire Department and became a loyal Springville City employee where he was working as the lead worker for the Waste and Storm Water department He was a jack of all trades: he could plumb, do electrical, finish cement, and fix iPads, but most of all was his exceptional relationship with machinery and motors. He loved camping, riding his motorcycle, and 4-wheeler journeys with his Uncle Rich, Jerald Thompson, and his many other friends. He also enjoyed woodturning, making many beautiful gifts for his family.
Rustin was an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as primary teacher. He loved his calling and the children he taught. Rustin was a fantastic Uncle to Andrew, Harrison, and Jackson. He would treat them to sleepovers where they crowed into is bed and watch ghost shows. He was the most wonderful grandson any grandparent could ever ask for, he ensured they received the care and comfort they needed every single day. Rustin was extremely loving and charitable, he was the guy everyone called when they needed help. Rustin's life, legacy, and example has deeply affected the many people he knew and loved.
He was preceded in death by his two Grandpas, Haws Porter and Maury Thomas.
Rustin is survived by his parents of Springville, sister RobiLyn (Springville), brother Jamison and wife Beth (Saratoga Springs), sister Shelby (Springville), three nephews Andrew, Harrison, and Jackson. Grandmothers: Joan Thomas, Springville and Janet Porter, Provo, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
