JoAnne, age 76, of Springville, Utah, passed away on Friday July 22, 2016 after her courageous battle with cancer.
She was born April 4, 1940 in Springville, Utah. She was the daughter of LeRoy Charles Harrington and May Tippetts Harrington. She was a Springville High School graduate and attended Utah State University.
JoAnne married Mark L. Rigtrup, of Springville, in 1976 in the Provo LDS Temple. She then later married Melvin L. Heaps, of Kaysville, in 2002. She was employed by the Utah County Recorders Office until her retirement in 2002.
Her interests included knitting, reading, family, animals, and the outdoors. She also loved a good laugh. She was the glue that kept her family together.
JoAnne is survived by her husband Melvin L. Heaps; three daughter, Lara Horrocks of Vernal, Traci (Andrew) Bird of Springville, and Jessica (Michael) Erickson of Harrisville; two brothers Vernon (Bonnie) Harrington and Richard Harrington; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, July 27th at 11am at the Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S, Springville, UT. All wishing to pay their respects may do so at a viewing held Tuesday evening July 26th at Wheeler Mortuary from 6-8pm and for one hour before the funeral services on July 27th. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery.
