John Alma Robertson

John Alma "Jack" Robertson, age 84 of Springville, Utah, died August 30, 2016 of complications from a lingering illness.
He was born August 28, 1932 in Provo, Utah to John Edwin and Elsie Fern Harker Robertson. The family moved to Springville, Utah in 1933 and settled at 960 South 4"1 East where John's father owned a chicken farm. John gathered and cleaned a whole lot of eggs. He also fed pigs, cleaned chicken coops, and helped with the turkeys.
He attended schools in Springville, graduating from Springville High School in May, 1950.
He was a member of the Utah National Guard in Springville, Utah for eight years. He was a pilot and flew for W.W. Clyde and Company. He would fly their people from job to job. He loved to fly and at the age of 19 flew his brother, Don, and some friends to Mexico. When they landed they all got out of the plane and kissed the ground!
In 1956 he joined his brother in their boating business, Robertson Marine, in Salt Lake City. He retired in 2000.
John loved to golf at Hobble Creek Golf Course, Nephi Golf Course, and in St. George. He loved to fish at Scofield and spend time at their cabin there.
John married Judy Rae Ostler on June 4, 1959. They were later divorced. He married Kathryn Huff Christiansen on December 30, 1997. She was the love of his life. They travelled to many places playing golf with friends. They enjoyed life in Springville, St. George, and Scofield.
John was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, a step-granddaughter, McKell Dalton, and a sister-in-law, Lynette Sumner. He is survived by his wife, Kathy, his children: Guy Robertson of Page, Arizona; Joni Robertson of Salt Lake City; Cheri Litton of Salt Lake City; two step-daughters, Danalyn (Bob Dalton) of St. George and Jill (Kurtis) Park of Nephi, Utah. There are seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, five step-grandchildren, and five and a half step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Don (Ann) Robertson and a twin sister, Janet (Ralph) Snelson, five sisters-in-law: Darlene Day, Carolyn Judd, Marilyn Devenish, Colene Miner, and Ellen Zimmerman, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held September 6, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the LDS meeting house at 350 North 400 East in Springville, Utah. A viewing will be held at the Wheeler Mortuary on Monday, September 5th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM (211 East 200 South, Springville, Utah) and one hour prior to the services. Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery, Springville, Utah.
