Joseph Henry Hillock

Joseph “Joe” Henry Hillock passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 11, 2016 at Parkway Health Center in Payson, Utah.
Joe was born August 18, 1935, in North Hollywood, CA to Henry and Ariel Hillock.  He married Mary Margaret McGrath on February 13, 1960.  They moved to Reseda, CA to raise their family.
Joe started and ran J.H. Hillock Electric, Inc. in the Los Angeles County area until he moved his family to Mapleton, UT in1976.  He continued to run his electrical business while also working at Geneva Steel, where he retired after 22 years.
Joe raced crackerbox race boats until he moved his family to Utah. Then he enjoyed going to the car races to watch his sons race, going to the NASCAR races, watching the races on tv and traveling in his motorhome, seeing all of the United States and Mexico.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Mary Margaret Hillock, his mother and father, a sister (Ariel), grandson, Justin Hillock and granddaughter, Melanie Hillock. He is survived by his sons, Jeff (Kathy) Hillock, Greg (Jill) Hillock and his daughter Jocelyn (Val) Johnson. Grandchildren, Ricky Johnson, Danyel (Kevin) Foster, Michael (Emily) Hillock, Brandi Jo Hillock, Amber Hillock and 4 great grandchildren.
Joe’s family would like to thank the incredible staff at Parkway Health Center for all the wonderful, compassionate care that they gave to their Dad. He truly loved all the staff there and the care they gave him, making the last couple of months of his life very happy.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the Evergreen Cemetery in Springville, UT (1997 South 400 East).
