LaRue (Sudweeks) Van Ausdal

LaRue Sudweeks Van Ausdal age 93 passed away April 24, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born February 26,1925 in Nephi, Utah to Richard Sudweeks and Flossie May Bowles Sudweeks. She married JR Van Ausdal on December 6, 1942. They were sealed for time and eternity in the Manti Temple September 10, 1960. They were blessed with two children.

Mom loved walking with her best friend Thelma Chapman. These two girls would walk all over Springville nearly every day. They waved to everyone! Mom loved to crochet on baby blankets for her great grandchildren and embroidery quilt squares and pillow cases for her family and friends. She loved to share her memories of her sisters and brothers while growing up in Nephi. Mom worked at the MTC for 12 years. She made the best cherry pies! That's what all the missionaries would tell her. Mom held various church callings thru the years. She was the primary chorister for over twenty years for the "old first ward". She loves music. She loved to be in the outdoors and spent many years with her family in their cabin in the Uinta Mountains.

LaRue is survived by her two children: Rick Jay (Kathleen) Van Ausdal and Gwen V. (David) Reed, eight grandchildren and twenty seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband JR Van Ausdal, grandson Richard Jay Van Ausdal, her brothers and sisters: Nello Sudweeks, Irene Sudweeks Harward, Orus Sudweeks, Raymond Sudweeks, Genevieve Sudweeks Wall, Verl Sudweeks, Beverly Sudweeks Gibson, and Ivor Sudweeks.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 11:00am. At the LDS church 840 South 400 East Springville. Friends may call Friday, April 27, 2018 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville or at the church from 9:30 -10:45 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
