Noel Rawlin Critchfield

Noel Rawlin Critchfield passed away after a prolonged illness on August 26, 2017, with his loving wife at his bedside. He was born July 26,1936, in Oakley Idaho, the 11th child of Robert Lewis and Zella Irene Critchfield. Noel graduated from Oakley high school and went on to receive a mechanical engineering degree at Utah State University, where he returned to teach for a short time. He served in the United States Air Force as a pilot, obtaining the rank of captain. He met Marilyn Anderson of Rexburg, Idaho and the two were sealed for time and ail eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on March 27,1964.
Noel worked extensively in the agricultural industry for 34 years. He could fix any kind of machinery and many relied on his vast knowledge. Because of his career, he and his family lived in several states across the nation including California, Nebraska, Illinois, Idaho, and Utah. He was a devoted father, husband and grandfather, and enjoyed the outdoors with his family, fishing, hunting, and camping. He also enjoy vacationing with his wife and children, gardening, reading and ice cream.
Noel had a deep, abiding love of the Savior, Jesus Christ. He served faithfully throughout his life in the LDS church. He and his wife served a mission later in life in the Richmond, Virginia area, where they loved the people and made lifelong friendships. Noel is survived by his wife of 53 years Marilyn Anderson Critchfield, brother Daren Critchfield, Sister Enid Bjarnson, sons Mark Critchfield (Natalie) and Scott Critchfield (Wendy), daughter Lauralee Miles (Craig), 13 grandchildren and one great grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Lewis and Zella Irene Critchfield, sisters Venice Williams, Thelda Robinson, Norma Bowen, Zetta Tholen, Inga Baker and brothers Lewis Critchfield, Keith Critchfield, and Hilton Critchfield.
Funeral services Friday, September 1, 2017 at 12 p.m. at the Spring Creek 12th Ward Chapel, 235 East 550 North in Springville.  There will be a viewing held Thursday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville and at the Chapel on Friday from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.  Interment will be in the Burton, Idaho Cemetery.
