Peggy Elise (Neeley) Sullivan

April 26, 1922 — October 14, 2017

Peggy Elise Sullivan passed away 14 Oct 2017 in Spanish Fork, Utah. She was born 26 April 1922 in Fairfield, Idaho, the fifth of seven children of Peter E. Neeley and Elise Lamont. She grew up in various farming communities in south-central Idaho. Peggy attended college in Pocatello, Idaho, and taught school in Idaho.
Art was always important to her and she moved to Los Angeles, California, to attend art school. There she met Robert R. Sullivan on blind date and didn’t like him much. Fortunately, she gave him another chance and they married on 11 June 1948 in Hollywood, California. They were later sealed in the Los Angeles Temple on 8 Nov 1975.
Peggy has always been an active and dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in every women’s auxiliary of the Church, and held many callings, teaching and presiding.
Peggy appreciated the beauties of this earth. She said that as a girl she would watch the sunsets and cry because they were so lovely.
As a talented artist, she was able to express these feelings in her paintings. Many family and friends have her works on their walls. She gave art lessons in both small private classes and community workshops.
She is survived by her children: Kim Sullivan, Springville, and Kelly (Morgan) Sullivan, South Weber; and grandchildren: Dave Sullivan, Salt Lake City; Vahl (Joshua) Wharton, Lehi; Chris (Damian) Sullivan, Valencia, California; Erin (Eric) Sullivan, West Jordan. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Sullivan, son Barry Lynn Sullivan (died at birth), parents, and siblings.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 18 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at Wheeler Mortuary in Springville (211 S 200 E). A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery (400 E Evergreen Drive — about 2000 S).
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the members of the Spanish Fork 5th Ward, the staff of the Beehive House in Spanish Fork, and David and Colleen Tingey for their loving service to Peggy in the final years of her life.
