Stuart Joshua Pendleton

May 18, 1992 — September 27, 2017

Our dear Son, Brother, Husband, and Father passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017. He was born in Mapleton, Utah, on May 18, 1992 to Dean Leeder Pendleton and Melody Smith Pendleton. Stuart graduated from Maple Mountain High School in 2010 and then attended some college at UVU in Orem, UT. His Father passed away when Stuart was 13 leaving a gap in his life. He was active in the LDS Church and Scouting, having many wonderful memories of scout camps and activities. He achieved the rank of an Eagle Scout with thanks to all of his wonderful young men leaders and ward members. Growing up, Stuart loved anything to do with Dinosaurs, reading his first very large descriptive book about them when he was 3. He wanted to be a Paleontologist for a long time. He followed the example of his older brothers and spent many, many hours on the baseball field with his Father learning how to pitch, catch and play baseball. We had no idea that he could swear until one day he dove back into a First base and received a concussion. He discovered that he loved Drama and was in a homeschool production of The Joseph Smith Story and then Guys and Dolls his Senior year of High School. At the age of 16, he attended Devil Pups, a United States Marine Corp summer camp for youth, with his brother, Benjamin, in July of 2008. It was a happy, very competitive time for both Stuart and Ben. They both came back with a greater understanding of their Father who was a Marine through and through.
Stuart was happy and would go around singing Country Songs and Celtic Thunder songs. He loved to talk with an Irish or English accent and would keep his mother smiling at his attempts. Stuart had his turn being the oldest at home, cooking and delegating household duties with 6 younger siblings. This is where he learned to cook. When he wanted sweets, he would cook meat and started experimenting with seasonings and then desserts.
Stuart married Kimberlee Beth Stuart on October 22, 2011. They were later divorced and then remarried again February 25, 2015. Stuart loved being a Father. He loved to have Phoenix sleep in the crook of his arm so they could both sleep better. He loved to clean, cook and shop with Phoenix by his side. Phoenix loves his daddy and would want to talk to him any time he could get a phone. Aurora was born to Talia Jeppson a few months before Phoenix and Stuart was trying to get to know her and cared for her also. He regretted that he was not able to have the same experiences with her as with Phoenix.
Stuart joined the Utah National Guard Reserves in 2012 and has been employed as an active duty cook for Camp Williams for about 2 years. Here, he seemed to find his place, cooking, and singing and serving his fellow Military buddies.
He was preceded in death by his Father Dean, Grandfathers John Sivell Smith and Oral Dean Pendleton. He is survived by his wife, Kim, Children; Aurora and Phoenix, Mother, Melody, Stepfather, Kenneth Dicken, Grandmothers; Josephine Smith and Audrey Pendleton, Siblings: Logan Michelle Gonzalez, Dianna (Tom) Torgerson, Anthony (McKae) Gonzalez, William (Jessica) Pendleton, Jaynee (Jacob) Bebee, O. Benjamin (Diana) Pendleton, Rachel, J.Russell, Ezra, Jaryd, and Chad Pendleton, Robert (Jennifer) Dicken, Jennifer (Jameson) Fife, Christina (Matt) Johnson, Emily (Joey) McClure, Sarah (Don) Hillman, 28 nieces and nephews.
