William Woodrow Wheeler

June 8, 1952 — May 25, 2015

William Woodrow Wheeler, 63, of Springville, Utah, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on May 25, 2015.
He was born June 8, 1952 in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of William Woodrow Sr. and Ileana K. Helenihi. He was married and sealed to Rebecca Schlueter and has now joined her in their heavenly home. He is survived by his 4 children Jenny Lee (Jackie), Wesley (Elaina), Amy, Jesse and his 3 grandchildren William, Lilyana, and Emmon. As well as a sister, Winona, brothers-in-law Ray and Brach, and many nieces and nephews that loved and admired him.
As his children, we grew to realize that our "Rock" was not going to save us forever. That his physical prowess, wisdom, love, example and intelligence would someday be passed on as we finally realized that the wind and rain he protected us from began to wear great grooves into his being and that eventually he would go the way of all things. As we sit with him now, his hands still dwarfing ours, I can't help but wonder, "How do we measure up to someone so beautiful, shaped by our Savior, to protect and shelter?" This "Rock" has been our hero, has helped us overcome all our great enemies, to stand triumphant and tall so that someday we might do the same for our sons and daughters. As the veil thinned and our Father in Heaven called for his son to return, we are left to stand with the fruits of his efforts in our hands and pray that we can simply step through this veil ourselves someday, have him look us in the eye and tell us he is as proud to have us as his children as we were to have him be our father.
He was preceded in death by his soul mate, Becky; his brothers Walt and Wesley Wheeler and his parents William and Ileana (Helenihi) Wheeler. He is now in the presence of many he missed and longed for - what a beautiful reunion.
Services will be held Saturday May 30. Visitation at 9 am, until the service at 10am, at the LDS church 400 East 400 North in Springville, Utah.
A special thanks to family, friends, neighbors, ward members, and the amazing staff at Tender Care Home Health and Hospice.
