Yvonne Burt

Jewell Yvonne Hurst Burt passed away on May 23, 2016. She was born in Mapleton, Utah on December 10, 1935, to Walden and Esther Hurst. She attended school in Mapleton and Springville, graduating from Springville High. She went on to attend BYU. She was sealed to Rodney L Burt in the Salt Lake Temple on March 13, 1958. Yvonne was committed to her family and took great joy in her grandchildren. She will forever be known as Grandma Angel.

She loved following any BYU sport and there are many referees whose ears will no longer be burning. She loved serving in the Primary and held various other church callings. Growing African Violets was her passion and she never strayed from the challenge of bringing a plant back to life.

Yvonne is survived by her husband, Rodney L Burt and by her children Mary Ann Hubbard, David John (Marilyn) Burt, Laura Lee Burt, Linda Burt, Michael Rodney (Colleen) Burt and Rachel Burt; adopted daughter Janel Boehme; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm at Wheeler Mortuary, 82 West 400 North, Mapleton, Utah. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Canyon Church, 1965 Canyon Road. A viewing will be held at the church from 11:45 to 12:45 prior to the service. interment will be at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
