Barbara Jean (Salmon) Anderson

September 13, 1929 — July 7, 2018

Barbara Jean Salmon Anderson left this world and rejoined her loving husband and cherished family on July 7th, 2018. She had experienced it all and fought the good fight and was ready to gain her eternal reward.
Barbara was born on September 13th 1929 to Johanna Petersen and Jesse Frank Salmon and was raised in the small town of Centerfield Utah. Barbara and her sisters were raised in the home of their grandparents Christian and Mary Petersen. She was always grateful for the loving home they provided and the testimony they instilled in her at a young age.
Barbara married Monte Lamar Anderson in the Manti temple on November 7th 1947. They were inseparable friends, and a beautiful example to all of a loving and devoted marriage. Together they raised 5 children, Gloria (Richard) Casper, Robyn Farnes, Jill (Louis) Shell, Bret (Lisa) Anderson, and MaryJo (Michael) Taylor. And 19 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. Together we made many memories at Monte and Barbara’s treasured mountain cabin near Soldier Creek Reservoir. We also experienced many adventures together at Pine Lake near Bryce Canyon area. Barbara is proceeded in death by her husband Monte Anderson and her parents, Jesse Frank Salmon, Johanna Peterson and Ross Peterson.
Barbara was always in service to her family, community and church. Together Monte and Barbara served in the Albuquerque New Mexico mission where they served the on the Navaho Indian Reservation in Chinle Arizona. They also served faithfully in the LDS Provo temple for 5 years.
Barbara had a passion for life and a love for learning. She loved to garden, sing, read, journal, sew and much more. She treasured the outdoors in everyway she could. Camping, 4-wheeling, hiking, snowmobiling, arrowhead hunting, and fishing were a way of life for her. She was the best mother and grandmother anyone could ever want. Barbara was a pillar of strength, a peace maker, an advocate, a provider, a healer, a friend and an unwavering example of faith in God.
