Beverly (Booth) Walker

March 10, 1925 — October 19, 2017

Beverly Booth Walker (92) passed away on October 19, 2017, at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.  She was born on March 10, 1925, in Nephi, Utah, to Paul Eastwood and Lucille Forrest Booth.  Beverly has one sister, Sharee (Don) Jensen and one brother, Forrest (Hannah) Booth.  Beverly graduated from Juab High School in Nephi, Utah, and went on to study nursing at the University of Utah during World War II.  She graduated with her RN degree and worked periodically as a nurse.  Beverly married her US Marine sweetheart, Russell Fox Walker, on April 8, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple.  She and Russ raised five sons and 1 daughter.  Beverly was Grandmother to 27 grandchildren and Great Grandmother (Granny) to 63 great-grandchildren.
Beverly was devoted to her family and delighted in teaching, serving, and nurturing them throughout her life.  She was a sweet, kind, and loving person, often going out of her way to help others in need.  Her strong testimony of Jesus Christ and His gospel was a central guiding force in her life.  She was a righteous example to all.  She served in the Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society organizations of the LDS Church.  She loved music and served for years as a ward organist.  She often sang duets with her husband, Russ.  Beverly and her husband served an LDS mission at the Lima Peru Temple.  She also served as a worker in the Provo Temple.  Beverly loved to camp and to be outdoors.  She also loved to travel.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Russell, and one great-grandson, Bridger Beck.  She is survived by her brother, her sister, and her children:  Greg (Karen) Walker of Toquerville, Utah; Brad (Becky) Walker of Wilmington, North Carolina; Wes (Chris) Walker, of Taylorsville, Utah; Ann (Wade) Broughton, of Lodi, California; Mark (Leslie) Walker of Springville, Utah; and David Walker of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
As a tribute to Beverly’s genuine concern for those in need, those wishing to do so, can honor her memory with a donation to a charity of their choice.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 28 at 11:00 AM at the Mapleton 18th Ward Chapel, 1210 No. 1000 West, Mapleton Utah.  A viewing will take place on Friday, October 27, from 6 to 8 PM at the Wheeler Mortuary, 82 W. 400 North, Mapleton, Utah, and Saturday, October 28, at 10:00 AM at the Mapleton 18th Ward Chapel.    Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery.
