Dean Dobkins Durall, age 94 born in November 30, 1923 in Welch, Oklahoma to Ruby Isabel Morris and Hugh Allan Durall, died January 7, 2018.  He married Nina Agnus Davis who preceded him in death.  Together they had one son, Roger Allan Durall.  He married Donna May McQuillen and later divorced. They had one son, John Patrick Durall, deceased 2012.  He later married Nola S. Behunin in 1966.  From this marriage he gained three more sons; Ace E. Murray, Kehl V. Murray, Chad W. Murray.  They have been together for 51 years.

Dean was a U.S. Marine and served in the Pacific Theatre during WWII.  He loved fishing and hunting.  He loved his sons and hunting dogs with him whenever he went hunting or fishing.  He was a member of Mensa.  He loved to read novels to historical books to biographies.  He loved to write and wrote letters to dozens of people all over the world.  He joined the LDS Church in 1975 and served as a Home Teacher, in the Scouting Program, in the Elders Quorum, and was also a Ward Historian.  He worked as a Petroleum Engineer and worked and lived many places throughout the United States as well as Singapore, Columbia, South America in which he took a fast track Spanish class where he learned to speak Spanish, and Nigeria, Africa.

He is survived by his wife, Nola; his son, Roger (Diana) Durall of Albuquerque, NM; stepsons: Ace E. (Linda) Murray of Madison, WI; Kehl V. (Lynette) Rexburg, ID; and Chad W. (Rocky) Murray of Security, CO.  He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren; his brother Billy M. Durall of Green Valley, AZ, and sister, Mary Jane Ashley of Santa Anna, CA.

Graveside services will be held with military rites in May in Vernal, Utah.  There will be a gathering of friends and family on Monday, January 15 at 11:30 a.m. at the LDS Chapel on 1316 South Main Street, Mapleton, Utah.
