Don Fielding Rosenlof

October 18, 1943 — February 17, 2019

Don was born October 18th, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Don grew up tending sheep in the foothills of Fairview and Mount Pleasant. He loved the great outdoors and understood the value of hard work. As the oldest of 8 boys, he developed an incredible work ethic and worked alongside his father and brothers. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, and rebuilding cars.
Don met his sweetheart Becky at a singles dance in 1992. He has 4 children, 15 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He always got a laugh out of them with his “funky chicken” dance. His children say that he taught them everything. They have fond memories of riding horses, building the barn, and spending time in the mountains together.
After high school in Orem, Utah, Don proudly served his country in the Army Reserves. He attended Utah Trade Tech where he got his Master Electrician certification and went on to work for Geneva Steel where he ran the maintenance shop for the electrical cranes.
If you were looking for someone to fix something, Don was your man.
He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed many opportunities serving others through his callings. Don loved the Gospel, and followed the example set forth in the scriptures: “…Choose you this day whom ye will serve… but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15)
Don is preceded in death by his boon companion DJ “The Wonder Horse”; his father Max Fielding Rosenlof, mother Lola Gertrude Farrington, step-mother Beth Anderson, daughter Michelle Rosenlof Chiverall, and great-grandson Benjamin Paul Hansen.
He is survived by his loving wife Rebecca “Becky” Turner Rosenlof, brothers Gary (Maurine) Rosenlof, Kenneth (Judy) Farrington, Mike (Dorothy) Rosenlof, Dennis (Laurie) Rosenlof, Randy (Ellen) Rosenlof, Kelly (Wendy) Rosenlof, and Scott Rosenlof; Daughter Teri (Brian) Sumsion, son Criss (LeAnn) Rosenlof, daughter Kim (Dennis) Knuteson; Step-children Ken Boyer, Brent (Galynn Borges) Boyer, Kirsten (Brian Washburn) Weber, Shaunalei (Erik) Andersen, Michelle Whitney, and Jenae (Blake) Torgersen; and many other family and friends.
Don will be buried on Friday, February 22nd, 2019, in the Springville City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Utah Alzheimer’s Association.
