Donald Ray Hoppe

July 9, 1967 — August 22, 2019

Donald Ray Hoppe (Donnie) is finally free from the limitations of his earthly body and we know he ran straight into his dad's arms, clearly stating for the first time, "I love you! I've missed you so much."

Donnie was born on July 9th, 1967 in Glendora, California. Donnie is the fourth child of Dale and Joy Hoppe; their "forever child." In those days, people were advised to institutionalize a person with down syndrome. Thankfully, Dale and Joy never considered it an option. Donnie lived to the ripe old age of 52, decades longer than doctors initially gave him. How lucky and blessed we were to keep him with us for so long! Donnie attended school in California and Utah, graduating from the Oakridge School in Provo, Utah on May 24th, 1989. He made lifelong friends with his coworkers and trainers at Central Utah Enterprises where he was employed until his last day.

Donnie was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and was a popular dance partner at many lodges. Donald was a known ladies man, a dynamo on the dance floor, and a horseshoe master. He gave slobbery kisses, was a dang good dartboard player, a clown, a lover of music and singing, an all-around showoff, a mama's boy, and a fantastic bowler. He loved his mom and dad, hot wheels, riding bikes, playing his keyboard, jigsaw puzzles, Pepsi-Cola, mashed potatoes with ketchup, bananas, Spaghetti O's, pudding, pretty girls, and his family.

Donnie is survived by his mother Joy (Moore) Hoppe, Sisters, Linda Hoppe and Debbie (Kim) Francom, and his brother James Hoppe. Numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, along with plenty of family who loved and supported him. Proceeded in death by his father, Dale Hoppe.

There will be a viewing Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville.  Services will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 1 p.m. in the LDS Chapel at 555 S.
