Edgel Milton Oldroyd

Edgel M. Oldroyd passed away peacefully on April 12, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was born May 26,1925 in Fountain Green, Utah. As a young man, Edgel loved being with his father and grandfather herding sheep. Because of his appreciation for his roots in Fountain Green he has a strong purpose for family and sense of community. He is a WWII Veteran serving in the Pacific in the Navy. Edgel spent is life in service. He was in the Jaycee's, a charter member of the Rotary Club in Springville, and anyone in Springville will always remember 2 things about Edgel: his outgoing personality as he was announcing pony league baseball games and Edgel's Sports Shop. He was High Priest Group Leader, and he and Lori were the coordinators with the LDS Addiction Recovery Program for 13 years.

He married Glenna Ostler. Their marriage gave them three children: Michael, Paula, and Karren. He later married Lori Dennis in 1981. They have a daughter, Julia. He has 3 three grandchildren: Hannah, Jake, and Judah.

The family would like to give special thanks to the Salt Lake VA. I-Care hospice, the caring hands, and all the special friends and family that have helped Edgel in this last journey.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 16, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the LDS Chapel at 355 East Center Street in Springville.  There will be a viewing held Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville and on Monday at the church one hour prior to the services.  Condolences may be sent at www.wheelermortuaries.com
