Emily Jane Peery

October 18, 1945 — November 8, 2018

Emily "Jane" Peery, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, cousin,
and friend, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018.

Jane was born October 18, 1945, in Provo, Utah to Elden R. Peery and
Helen Moir, but she grew up in Springville. After graduating from
Springville High School in 1963, she attended Snow College, where she
earned an Associate of Science Degree. She then attended Southern Utah
State College in Cedar City, Utah.

After returning home from Snow College, she was employed by Barbizon
for 4 years. While attending college in Cedar City, she worked for
Montgomery Ward and the Iron County Assessor. In 1973 Jane began
working at Brigham Young University, first in the Housing Department and
then in Financial Services, where she was a student supervisor, helping
students enhance their experience in Payroll. She retired from BYU in
2010 after 37 years of service.

Jane was an avid Cougar fan and held season tickets for many years. She
was very gifted at knitting and crocheting and was an excellent cook. Her
family was particularly fond of her scones, which she served at family
breakfasts in her home during the Easter Season. She was a faithful
member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a
mission to the Florida Tallahassee Mission.

She is survived by her older brother. Kirk (Karen) Peery, her younger sister,
Dianne (Leo) Richardson; three nieces: Tawni (Steve) Rice; Kristen (Jason)
Casto, and Karalee (Anthony) Nelson; three nephews: Kase (Shannon)
Peery, Randy (Katie) Richardson, and Ryan Richardson; her great-nieces
Sami, Sydnee, Kelsie, Avrie, Jaci, Cambrie, Emilie, and Savanah; and her
great-nephews Alex, Trevor, Jaden, Joshua, Jared, Ethan, Brendan,
Keaton, Andrew, Caleb, David, Tavin, and Jack. She was preceded in
death by her parents.

As a family, we want to give special thanks to Aspen Ridge of Utah Valley
for the exceptional care they gave Jane, and we express our deep
appreciation to those special neighbors and members of the Provo
Parkway 3rd Ward who were so good to Jane and who exemplify what it
means to give genuine Christ-like service.

To honor Jane's wishes, a private memorial service will be held
Saturday, November 17, 2018, at the Provo Parkway 3rd Ward,
located at 3111 W. 1390 N., Provo, UT 84601.  Interment will be in
the Spanish Fork City Cemetery. Memorial service and burial
arrangements by Wheeler Mortuary of Springville.
