Gregory Troy Tipton

Gregory Troy Tipton, (AKA Greg Thomas) age 53 passed away on July 29- in Reno, NV. He was born to Dean and Marie Tipton. He spent his early years through high school in Springville Utah. Greg was diagnosed in March of 2010 with cancer and given 2 months to live. Greg beat this diagnosis and lived another 7 fulfilling years. Greg spent his early years in Springville where he graduated from Springville High School in 1981. After high school Greg graduated from broadcasting school in Salt Lake City and his career was off and running. He spent 36 years in radio and television broadcasting all over the United States, he was a natural at this. In the very early part of his broadcasting career he was told that the name "Tipton" did not have a broadcasting ring to it so he picked up his radio name of "Greg Thomas". He married Traci Scheaffer and they had one son, Dalin. They were later divorced. While working in Reno, 2010 he met Jamiee Kerr and they were married on March 28,2016. He became the father of Kylie. We will forever be listening for those broadcasts from heaven. He was a member of the LDS Church. Greg leaves behind his wife Jamiee; Fernley, NV. Son Dalin; Spokane, WA. Daughter Kylie; Fernley, NV. Parents Dean and Marie Tipton; Springville, UT. Sister Kim (Paul) Hitchcock; Vernal, UT. Brothers, Kevin (Susan) Tipton, Cedar City, UT. Kelly (Mary) Tipton, Highland, UT. And many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an older brother Tracy. Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S., Springville on Tuesday, August 8th. Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Springville Cemetery. Condolences may be sent at www.wheelermortuaries.com.
