James Willard Hardyman

August 25, 1960 — October 31, 2018

It is with great sorrow that the family of James Willard Hardyman, announces the death of their brother, uncle and friend on October 31st, 2018. James, "Jim" lately of Springville, Utah, was born August 25, 1960 in Phoenix, Arizona, the fourth son of Gene Hardyman and Jeanie Wakefield Hardyman. Jim was a gentle child - he grew into a gentle giant.

Jim spent his childhood in Phoenix, Arizona, graduating from Alhambra High School. After high school graduation, he moved with his family to El Centro, California. Jim attended Ricks college and served an LDS mission in the Ohio Cleveland Mission. He graduated from Weber State University in 1989 majoring in Health Sciences. Jim loved music, and was a talented musician. Jim served in the US Army reserves and was called into active duty for 6 months in 1986 and 5 months in 1990. While in the Army Jim trained as a lab technician, a skill he continued to use throughout his life. For several years Jim worked and lived on Johnston Atoll and while there, took advantage of many traveling experiences. In the late 90's Jim moved to Utah and worked at Primary Children's Hospital, Lab Corp, and chemical disposal at Tooele Army Depot. in Salt Lake City. Jim's quirky sense of humor and kind heart made him many friends and his friends benefited from his magnanimous spirit. Jim moved to Utah county to care for his aging parents. He generously cared for each in turn until his father's death in 2017.

Jim's death was preceded by his father Gene and mother Jeanie Hardyman, and his brother Jeffrey Hardyman. Jim is survived by his brothers Greg (Beatrix) of Castaic, California, Paul (Lisa) of Rigby, Idaho and David (Rebeccah) of St. George Utah, his sister-in-law Cindy Ness, his 11 nieces and nephews, and a host of friends and neighbors. Jim's death was sudden and unexpected- he will be missed.

A graveside memorial will be held in his honor at Evergreen Cemetery in Springville, Utah, on December 8th, 2018 at 12:00 p.m.
