Janet (Holley) Jensen

August 10, 1939 — August 10, 2018

Our beloved Mother, Grandmother and best friend passed away, peacefully at her home in Sun City West in Arizona on August 10, 2018, on her birthday.  Janet Holley was born in Mapleton, Utah to Mildred Spafford and Perry Holley, having 3 sisters and one brother.

She married the love of her life Gary Joseph Jensen in the Salt Lake City temple on September 17, 1959.  After his passing she married Sonny Wirihana in the New Zealand temple in 2004.

Janet was well educated with a Bachelor’s degree in Elem. Education and a Master’s degree in School Counseling. For 20 years she had a high-profile teaching career in Idaho, Arizona and Utah.

Janet was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving as ward and stake Relief Society President as well as ward and stake Young Women’s President. She was also the Primary President. She served as a teacher in Primary, Young Women’s and Relief Society. She served 3 proselyting missions, several service missions at Temple Square and 4 temple missions. She was currently serving an English Language mission in Arizona.

Janet is survived by 4 daughters and 1 son, Lisa Jensen Puckett (Rod) Idaho Falls, Idaho; Karrie Jo Mooso (Bret) Idaho Falls, Idaho; Kimberley Jensen Bowman (David) Stansbury Park, Utah; Justin Gary Jensen (Shauna) Draper, Utah; Amie Ann Ballard-Matthews (Chris) Oceanside, California. She had 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She has 3 sisters and one sister-in-law, Marilyn Scott, Salt Lake City, Utah; Kay Scott, Murray, Utah; Phyllis Black (Wayne) Payson, Utah; Connie Holley, Ventura, California.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband Gary Joseph Jensen, her parents and her brother Ronald Holley.

The viewing will be held Saturday August 18th, 2018 from 10-11 am at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S., Springville Utah, all are welcome. Interment will be in the Springville City Cemetery.  Condolences may be sent at www.wheelermortuaries.com.
