Jeremy David Nunes

October 25, 1979 — August 28, 2017

Jeremy David Nunes, born October 25, 1979, crossed over to a more peaceful life the morning of Monday August 28, 2017 after a long battle with substance abuse. He joins his younger brother Robby, who also lost the battle several years ago. They both tried very hard to beat this horrific disease, one that also engulfs all who love them.
Those who love Jeremy know his heart and who he really was in his soul. His great love in his life was his wife Whitney Knecht Nunes. He always said no one understood him like she did. She loved him deeply and was there for him as best as she could be the last few years. They remained best friends and were there as a team for their sons. Jer loved his precious boys, Bridger Bryton and Boston Robby. He was as much of a kid as they are, sharing a love of superheroes, wrestling, movies and cool cars with them. There was nothing more fun than wrestling with dad and doing guy stuff. Those boys loved their dad.
Jeremy leaves behind many old and new friends. He never forgot a good friend. He was known at Springville High School for his love and ability for baseball and football, but his focus later in life always came back to his little family. Jeremy excelled in his former career at TD Ameritrade/Investools, where he quickly climbed his way to the top, breaking records in sales, winning multiple awards, getting the opportunity to travel the world and felt fulfilled in a tough industry. He made many friends there and held that part of his life dear to his heart.
We will never forget the smart, funny prankster we have always loved. He loved, worked and played hard his whole life. He crammed a lifetime into 37 years. Besides his wife and kids, Jeremy is survived by a large extended family including his mother Sandi McClure Daoust, stepfather Don Daoust, sisters Shannon (Shane) Penrod and Mary (Adam) Armstrong. Also his father Rick Nunes, stepmother Vicki Nunes, step-siblings Ben, Mackenzie, Sam and Daniel Martindale as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be missed by his in-laws that he loved, Charlie and Linda Knecht, Dayna, Brent, Jenny, Justin and Jordan. Jeremy was preceded in death by his brother Robby Nunes.
Our family would like to express gratitude to Jeremy’s boss and friend, Cody Sleater, his friends and roommates Jordan Mohler and TJ Barney who were there for him. Jeremy loved all of his coworkers. The men from Helping Hands considered him to be their brother. We also want to thank our close friends and family whose prayers and love continue to hold us up. We hope to use Jeremy’s life as the reason we truly live our lives not the reason we don’t. He is free now and is loved eternally.
There will be a memorial service held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville.
