R. Lynn Bjarnson

R. Lynn Bjarnson passed away at his home in Mapleton on June 19, 2019. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, and son whose life was distinguished by devotion to duty and by constant care for his family and others.
Lynn was born July 23, 1928 to Ingimund and Flora Bjarnson in Springville, Utah, who taught him, along with his siblings, to work hard and to appreciate life. His childhood was spent learning how to work on the family farm down in the area known as Sage Creek. He later became known as one of the Sage Creek Riders.
Lynn graduated from Springville High School after which he enlisted in the 101 Airborne Division of the U.S. Army as a paratrooper. Following his honorable release, Lynn purchased a 10 wheeler military truck and began hauling crushed lime to the mines in Emery County. In return, he would haul coal back to the state hospital. He worked for Geneva Steel for 2 years and was later hired by J. X. Gardner Ranching.
He married Alene Sorenson April 6, 1956, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS temple. Alene was the love of his life along with their three children, Dianna, Doug, and Hugh. Lynn and Alene enjoyed ranching, farming, and developing. Together they started construction of the Green Acres Mobile Home Park in Springville, Utah, and also Castle Valley Mobile Home Park in Ferron, Utah in 1976. The latter years of their union were spent traveling, in winter months residing in Yuma, Arizona, and being with their grandchildren whom they dearly loved.
Lynn was an active member of the LDS church and served in many church callings. He was active in his community serving in various capacities.
He is survived by his wife Alene Bjarnson, daughter Dianna (Mike) Tagliabue, son Hugh Bjarnson, nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Wilda Bjarnson, Hosmer (Marian) Bjarnson, Leon (EvaJane) Bjarnson, Rosalie (Keith) Daybell, Glen (Joann) Bjarnson, Joyce (Ted) Simpson, and a son, Douglas Bjarnson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday, June 24, 2019 at the Mapleton 20th ward chapel at 475 North 1600 West, Mapleton, Utah. Friends and family may call at the Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville, Utah Sunday evening June 23, 2019 from 6-8 pm, and at the church from 9:30-10:30 prior to services. Interment will be in the Evergreen cemetery
