Charles Allen Caldwell, known to his loved ones as Chuck, was born on April 25, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois. He passed away on April 8, 2023, at the age of 86. He married Glenda Mae Orton on January 25, 1958, in Phoenix, Arizona.

As a teenager, Chuck rode the train to Yellowstone National Park and worked there alongside his friend John O'Brien. This experience and his fascination with Mark Twain sparked his love for travel and adventure, which stayed with him throughout his life. He went on to work at Salt River Project for many years and also served as a Maricopa County Deputy Sheriff. Chuck was highly regarded by his colleagues and the community he served.

One of Chuck's most memorable experiences was when he rode his motorcycle across Canada with his wife Glenda and their close friends Harry and Carma Leonard. He cherished this trip and loved sharing stories about it with anyone who would listen.

He was the best storyteller. Everyone who shared time with him would soon hear the story about the bears on the roof at Yellowstone, or while in Canada, he strayed from the group and the Canadian Mounties had to search for him. In his defense, he said he wasn't lost.

He will be missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He is survived by his wife Glenda and three sons; Ted (Vicki) Rowland, Steven (Michelle) Caldwell, and Michael (Michele) Caldwell; eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, brother Doug (Karen) Caldwell, and sister Lynn Schell.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Julie, parents Harry and Winnifred Caldwell, and grandson Scott Caldwell.
