Listen to Obituary

Annette Rawle Holm, 71, of Springville passed away August 5, 2025, from the effects of advanced Parkinson’s disease. Over the past twenty years, she faced the deteriorating effects of her illness with bravery.

Annette was the oldest child of James Millet and Elaine Jessee Rawle and spent her first year living with her mother in the home of her grandparents, Cornell and Minerva Jessee, while her father was stationed in Germany in the U.S. Army. She always had a special love for her grandparents’, Jessee and her grandmother May Belle Rawle and spent many happy times with her Grandma Rawle in Morgan Utah.

Annette excelled at an early age in English, music, and painting and loved people and serving others. She was a natural leader and loved her parents and siblings, James, Jr. (Patricia), David Jessee, Robert (Sandy), Sue, Roger (Torgunn), and Michael (Michelle). She learned to play the piano and organ from Mary Bird, and was called to be ward organist as a teenager. While at Springville High School she honed her artistic abilities under Stan Burningham, played the violin in the orchestra, and served on the Seminary Council.

Annette Married Keven Royt Holm on February 15, 1975. He had recently returned from serving a mission in Taiwan and she prayed that she would marry him! Together they have five children: Cherranne, Doug (Heather), Clifford (Jenna), Megan, and John. Annette took her role of wife and mother seriously and excelled at gardening, home making, baking, cooking, and sewing. She was a generous grandmother, and loved her grandchildren: George, Anders, Vivian, Naomi, Tempest, and Tommy.

Annette was blessed with many great talents–which she enlarged and practiced and shared with others. She made hundreds of hand-sewn ‘Hannah’ dolls which she gave as gifts and created numerous pieces of embroidery and intricate quilts. She mastered numerous fine art mediums, including oil and acrylic painting, water colors, plein air, bas relief, wire work, felting, crocheting, and knitting. She was an excellent calligrapher, journal writer, and letter writer. Additionally, she recently received accolades from the Utah State Poetry Society for one of her poems and will have poetry published posthumously in an upcoming anthology. The creation of artistic works was fundamental to her identity and was an essential component of her spirituality.

She was an avid flower gardener and participated in the annual Art City Days Flower Show and chaired that event for a number of years. She served in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as ward organist, Primary music leader, Young Women leader, and Relief Society president. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ, taught her family to pray and love one another.

She was preceded in death by her husband Keven, her parents, a sister Linda, and brother Roger. She courageously dealt with many unexpected challenges throughout her life, including losing her husband to depression and suffering from Parkinson’s disease for nearly 25 years. She is an example to all of us of love, faith, and devotion in the face of sorrow and adversity.

Annette’s family is grateful for the kindness of family and friends and the care given by Chelsie Mangelson and the staff at Cascade Springs Hospice, Heritage Gardens, and Canterbury.
