Bonna Rae (Farmer) Lucasse

March 14, 1933 — November 23, 2020

Bonna Rae (Farmer) Lucasse, long-time resident of Glendale, Arizona, passed away on the 23rd of November 2020 in the loving care of the Ark of Life Assisted Living Home in Glendale, Arizona. She died of natural causes and was 87 years old at the time of her passing. She married E C Pelfrey in Great Falls, Montana on the 13th of August 1952 (divorced). She later married Jean Michel Lucasse.
Bonna was the mother of: Patricia Ann Pelfrey (Sheldon Sturges), Susan Gail Pelfrey, Deborah Fay Pelfrey, Stephen Laval Pelfrey (Connie), and Cathy Lynn Pelfrey (Rick Jones). She has 14 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
Bonna was born in Preston, Idaho on the 14th of March 1933 and spent her early life in Fairfield and Great Falls, Montana, where she graduated from high school in 1952. She is the daughter of Aneata Pearl Peterson and Truman Edward Farmer and was the fourth of eight children. She was the loving sister of Doyle, Doris, Thella, Scott, Val, Larry, and Randy. She is survived by her husband, Jean Michel Lucasse, brothers Val, Larry, and Randy, and three daughters, Patricia, Susan, and Cathy.
Bonna was a beautiful, kind, energetic and happy person who always pushed through to make the most of life’s challenges. She always greeted people with a smile on her face, a kind word to say, and an outstretched hand for those in need.  She had an exceptional work ethic and was a valuable employee, sometimes holding two or three jobs at the same time. During her working years, she, among other endeavors, designed and made beautiful ballroom performance dresses in Seattle and Phoenix, worked as a bookkeeper, and managed retail stores for AT&T in Phoenix and Denver.
Bonna loved to dance—especially when in the arms of Jean Michel, her husband and love of her life. Throughout her life, Bonna loved to travel with Jean to see and help relatives and especially enjoyed her trips to France where they visited Jean’s family and friends. After her retirement, Bonna turned her heart and mind to sewing, travel, and valuable and timely service. She particularly enjoyed the time she devoted to designing and creating clothes, costumes, and quilts for her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and adoring nieces and nephews.
We will miss Bonna and feel grateful to have had such a loving, generous, and guileless person, wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother in our lives.
