Brenda Mason Olson transitioned to her heavenly home on December 20th reuniting with family and friends, concluding a valiant five-year battle with Alzheimer's. Brenda was born (April 5, 1954) and raised in Springville, Utah. She enjoyed growing up within a close-knit family making strong bonds with many of her Graves cousins. She met her eternal companion Kevin Olson while working for Utah County at the Sheriff’s Office. Brenda was a devoted homemaker during her children's formative years and then went to work for Iron County School District as a lunch lady. While there her hard work and knack for baking soon advanced her to the position of lunchroom manager where she enjoyed a 21 year career. Her most cherished aspect of her role was the meaningful relationships she cultivated, whether with the children she served or her colleagues. Renowned for her spirited sense of humor, Brenda injected levity into the daily grind, delighting in the art of a well-placed prank or a clever practical joke.
Brenda retired to redirect her energy to creating moments with her cherished grandchildren and bustling family. She will always be remembered as being the life of the party, and a goofball that loved to make others laugh. She was an explorer that loved to travel with her kids and grandkids. She longed to experience new things and places. She enjoyed rides at Disneyland, ziplining, whitewater rafting and cruises. In addition, an entertainer that loved to host dinners and share her delicious food as a talented cook. Most of all she will be remembered as a caretaker that was always excited to spend time with her grandkids. There is no doubt that Brenda’s greatest joy came when she was with her family.
Brenda leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by her three daughters Bobi Lowe, Randi Griffith (Cody), Mickel Holder (Bryan), son KC Olson (Jenna), 12 grandchildren and her brother Jay Mason. Brenda is preceded in death by her husband Kevin Olson, her mother & father (Dean & Emma Mason), brother (Jim Mason), sister (Caroldine Gilbert), and grandparents.
