Cluff Earl Hopla
December 28, 1917 — October 30, 2008
Dr. Cluff E. Hopla, age 90, of 142 Hunter Dr., Martin TN, died Thursday, 10/30/2008, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery, 1997 S. 400 E., Springville. There will be a viewing held one hour prior to the service at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S., Springville.
Dr. Hopla was a professor & Chairman of Zoology Department at the University of Oklahoma for 51 years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Dr. Hopla is survived by a daughter, Dr. Anna Hopla, of Martin TN, two sons; Dr. Richard Earl Hopla, Cranston RI, and Dr. Dan Michael Hopla, Florence, SC; two grandchildren; Michael John Hopla, Florence SC, and Allister Edwin Wilton, Memphis TN; and three sisters; Lenore Durrant, Carmel CA, Carma Harris, Provo Utah, and Renee Dove, St George Utah.
Dr. Hopla was preceded in death by his wife, Moyra Ullock Hopla, his parents, David & Lilly Elizabeth Erickson Hopla, and a brother, William Robert Hopla.
