Coleen Collyer Eyre

March 31, 1942 — May 9, 2007

Our sweet Angel Momma and Grandma Coco has taken her place in Heaven. After a long and valiant struggle with the complications of her lung disease, she was called home to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father Wednesday, May 9, having faithfully accomplished all He had asked her to do. Her departure from mortality leaves an emptiness in the hearts of all who loved her that is only filled by our joy for her and our hope in the resurrection. How grateful we are for our Savior who made that possible!

Born March 31, 1942 in Seattle, Washington to Darlene Doble and Percy Luther Collyer, she was the third of eight children. She graduated from West Seattle High School, and attended BYU studying political science. Always eager to share the good news of the gospel, she first served a mission for the LDS Church in Chicago, Illinois 1965-66, and later served in the New York, Rochester Mission as a Senior Sister.

She considered her greatest blessings to be her children and grandchildren, and devoted her life to her family. Her greatest joy was found in their service and in her service to others. She was an energetic entrepreneur whose business was more about blessing others with Grandma's Touch than making money. Never without a smile, she chose to always see the good in others, and to seek the good in every situation. She was kind, and strong, and beautiful. Refined by the trials and adversity in her life, she became a true example of charity, radiating the light and love of our Savior in all she did and in all that she was. Her genuine love, deep faith, cheerful countenance, and positive outlook were an inspiration to those around her, and will be greatly missed.

Coleen was preceded in death by her father, and her son (Jon Christian Eyre), she is survived by her mother, five sisters, and two brothers. She leaves behind five daughters: Tracie Whitlock (Paul), Kymber Lee Jasperson (Josh), Meri Egan (Patrick), Amanda McConkie (Joseph), Sadie Stanfield (Jason); and thirteen grandchildren: Aspen, Josh, Tyler, Jacob, Brenden, Addi, Zac, Porter, Ethan, Morgan, Ava, Sophie, and Carter, who love her very much. We will do our best to honor her legacy.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 17, 11:00 a.m. at the Springville West stake center, located at 960 West Center. Friends and family are welcomed to gather at her home from three to five that afternoon. A graveside service will be held the following day at the Richfield City Cemetery at 11:30 a.m.

We wish to express our deepest appreciation to all who have offered their love and support through these past difficult weeks, and especially to the kind and competent caregivers at UVRMC. You know who you are. Thank you so much!
