Dale Arnold Keim

May 18, 1920 — September 15, 2019

Dale Arnold Keim passed away peacefully at the Intermountain Regional Hospital on September 15, 2019 with his daughter, Jan at his side.  He had many loved ones and friends stop by all day to show their love and support for their dear friend, Dale.
He had fallen on Thursday morning in his kitchen and fractured his hip and was operated on that evening but never completely woke up from the surgery.
He never got his greatest wish which was to make it to his 100th birthday.  He came close but he had a lot of family waiting for him and apparently, they needed him now.
Dale was born May 18, 1920 to Frank Miles Keim and Gertrude Frances Arnold in Brown County, Nebraska.  He was born at home on the Plum Creek Farm.
Dale was raised during the hard times of the 1920’s and the 1930’s.  He lived on, worked on, or operated several different farms in the Brown County area.
He married Lucille Anderson on July 10, 1941 and they continued farming together.  Two children were born during this time.  About 1951, Dale started out for California to find a new job but ran out of money in Provo, Utah.  He found a job the next day and fell in love with the area.  He brought the family out too.  Several years later they divorced.  Not too much later he met and married Norma Potts on January 6, 1961 and added Norma’s son Wayne Potts to the family.
They spent 53 wonderful years together prior to Norma’s passing in 2014.  Both loved their winters being “Snow Birds” in Quartzsite, AZ.  They both had a love of fishing, hunting and traveling, whether it was to Alaska, Mexico, or many trips to Nebraska to visit family.
Dale is survived by a daughter, Jan Hess and her husband Stan Hess, Ferron, UT; stepson, Wayne Potts and his wife Patricia Slev, Salt Lake City, UT; Grandchildren: Kelly Hess and his wife Lori Hess, Spring, TX; Jerry Hess and his wife Kandi Hess, Rock Springs, WY; Bryan Potts, Salt Lake  City, UT; Nikki Potts, St Paul, MN; 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, David L. Keim of Mapleton, UT; and his 4 brothers and 3 sisters who were all from Nebraska: Ruth Thackrey, Clair Keim, Ray Keim, Frances Keim, Fern Balm, Ralph Keim, and Erwin Keim.
The family would like to thank Eric & Liz Meyers Family and Tom & Ethel Hood Family for their years of kindness and service to our dad.  Also, a thanks to Aspen Senior Care for caring for Dale.
