Dana Verline Dimick passed away at her home on May 20th, 2024 after a fierce battle with cancer, surrounded by her family at the age of 70. She was born May 8th, 1954, in Price UT to Verdis Leon and Olive Pauline Barker. She married Thomas Jack Dimick September 6th, 1972 and was sealed in the Manti Temple March 23, 1979.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in numerous callings throughout her life. She served with her husband as a missionary in the Nevada, Las Vegas mission, and in the Manti Temple as an ordinance worker. She devoted her life to serving her family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers with Christlike love.
She was a devoted wife to her husband and loving mother to 8 children. Through her example she taught her children to be hard working, respectful, patient, kind, and to serve with unconditional love. She had the ability to make you feel important, welcomed, loved, and understood. She enjoyed traveling, especially if it was with her family. She had a deep love for nurturing her family through both food and many homemaking talents. She dedicated countless hours sewing baby blankets, Levi quilts, and stick horses as expressions of love for her family and friends.
In addition to her incredible legacy of love and service, Dana leaves behind a loving husband of 51 years and a large family who will deeply miss her presence. She is survived by eight children (all girls except seven): Travis (Amanda), Trevor (Teresa), Tanner (Kim), Trent (Rachel), Tyler (Mandy), Terrel (Rachele), Desiree (Zeke) Powell, and Taylor (Sydnie) with 24 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Pauline Barker, two brothers: Brent (Marj) Barker and Dorrell (Michele) Barker; two sisters: Jayline (Doug) Gardner and Joni (Richard) Hackwell; three sisters-in-law Peggy (Hugh) Norman, Patrician (Scott) Vickery and Virginia Dimick; and two brothers-in-law, Fred (Bobbie) Dimick and Mark (Katherine); as well as countless nephew’s and niece’s. With such a substantial posterity Dana's legacy of love and compassion will continue to thrive through generations.
Dana Verline Dimick is preceded in death by her father Verdis Barker, mother-in-law Geraldine Dimick, father-in-law Jack Dimick, and brother-in-law Eric Buch. In this time of grief, may we find solace in the memories we shared with Dana - a remarkable woman whose kindness and compassion knew no bounds. Her fierce battle with cancer serves as a testament to her strength and resilience even in the face of adversity.
As we bid farewell to Dana in this earthly life, let us carry forward the lessons she taught us to love unconditionally, serve selflessly, and cherish family.
