Daniel Keith Barton

Daniel Keith Barton, age 82 of Springville, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2020. He was born September 9, 1937 in Bingham Canyon, Utah to Daniel M. and Nell Bird Barton. He graduated from Springville High School in 1955. Dan lived in Springville most of his life.
Dan was a Pony League Umpire and Little League Coach during the early 60’s. He was a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce and Rotary International. Dan was a Springville Police Officer and the Past President of the Central Utah Peace Officers Association. He enjoyed hunting, bowling and golfing.
He is survived by his daughters: Dana Barton Henderson of Idaho; Lisa Barton Whitlock of Arizona; Tara Barton of Springville; and Jolynn Benson of Annabella, Utah; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He is also survived by two brothers: Bob & Jess; and sister: Elaine.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother: Daniel M. & Nell Barton; sister, Carma Duncan of Springville; nephew, Barton Duncan of San Francisco, CA; grandson, Michael D. Thomas of OR; and Billie, his beloved dog.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2020 at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville. There will be a viewing held at the mortuary from 10:00 to 10:45 prior to the services.
