David Jon Clements

David Jon Clements, 79 passed away peacefully on June 12, 2024 following his sisters passing just two days prior. A true sign of their friendship. David was born January 15, 1945 to Reed and Gertrude (Averett) Clements and was the baby to 5 loving, older siblings.

David was raised in Springville, Utah and graduated from Springville High School, Class of ‘63 as a proud Red Devil. David married Mary Cole and together they had 6 kids and raised them in Payson, Utah.

David loved the outdoors and loved spending time hunting and fishing with his brothers, nephews, and sons. He loved coaching his son’s baseball teams and the Payson All Star Team in 1981. David loved taking his 6 kids to the Pioneer Drive In and to Disneyland and loved showing them Zion and Bryce National Parks and laughing when his kids were disappointed in Big Rock Candy Mountain (we laugh now too). David loved Christmas morning and could barely contain himself with the excitement of seeing his young kids experience the magic of Christmas.

David started his career in Customer Service at Allen’s Market in Springville where he was able to utilize his famous Social Skills which served him later as a Sales Representative for Kraft General Foods for more than 20 years. He retired from Nestle in 2011.

He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Later on in his life he served a Family History Mission in The Greater Columbus, Ohio Area. It was definitely a highlight of David’s life.

David is survived by 5 of his children: Jeff Clements, Gayle Clements, Mary Joy Clements, Jon Clements, and NaCole Clements all of Payson, Utah as well as one sibling: Paula Mendenhall, Las Vegas, Nevada. Also survived by 5 Grandchildren: Elise, Kaylea, Chandler, Gillyan, and Alee. David was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Tom, Reed, Bryce, and sister Kara Lee Roberts and his son Paul Reed Clements.

David’s family would like to Thank Bonnie Ballard and Cami Jensen and the entire staff of The Beehive Home in Payson, Utah for their loving care.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Wheeler Mortuary (Springville, Utah) Viewing: 9:30 - 10:30 am. Services begin at 11. Interment at Payson City Cemetery.
