Dean Willis Young passed away peacefully on December 23, 2018 surrounded by his family. Dean was born on June 29th, 1936 in Mona, Utah to Willis Bernell and Donna Pickering Young. He graduated from Payson High School and served in the Army and was stationed in Germany.
He married Sadie Emma Miller and they are the parents of five children: Jenny Rose, Ellijay Georgia, Garvin (Dixie), Clinton Utah, Charla (Kim) Ellison, Spanish Fork, SuZet (Ian) Roylance, Springville, SuZan (Corey) McEwan, Spanish Fork. He and Sadie were married and sealed on September 14, 1963 in the Manti Temple.
He loved to be outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He could always be found around town with his metal detector finding lost treasures. He also loved finding antiques and collecting coins and sports cards. Dean was dedicated and served faithfully in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Dean is survived by his 5 children, 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents Willis Bernell and Donna Pickering Young and his wife Sadie Emma Miller Young.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Wheeler Mortuary at 82 West 400 North in Mapleton, Utah. There will be a viewing held at the mortuary Thursday evening from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. and on Friday one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
