She was the middle child of three. She was married to Elmo R. Muir in the Logan LDS Temple on July 29, 1952.
Being raised on a farm near Bear Lake, Idaho instilled in her a love of family, hard work, nature, education, and an independent spirit. She was very fond of animals of all kinds. The wildlife in her backyard were always welcome and a great source of joy to her.
DeLone graduated from Ricks College with a degree in Elementary Education after which she and Elmo moved to Olympia Washington to serve with the US Army. They then relocated to Provo, Utah to attend BYU and continue growing their family. When her children were all in school, she entered the teaching profession and became a much loved teacher at Rock Canyon and Westridge Elementary Schools from 1970 until her retirement in 1995. She then worked as a student teacher mentor for Brigham Young University assisting others in their quest to become educators. She loved all children but especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whose visits she relished.
DeLone had a beautiful singing voice and loved music of all kinds. She was in an award winning quartet for several years and an LDS ward choir leader for many more. She was also a member of Jay Welch Chorale and enjoyed performing timeless selections of music with them. She was an active member of the LDS church and fulfilled her many callings with the enthusiasm befitting her strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She and her husband volunteered together for many years at the Missionary Training Center in Provo as well as the Provo LDS Temple both of which fulfilled her desire to serve.
