Dixie “Miller” Cunnington, age 85, of Springville Utah, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, May 10, 2025. She was born to Willard Curtis and Luella Jensen on September 9, 1939, in Provo, Utah. She graduated from Provo High School in 1957. She married S. Wayne Miller on June 20, 1958, and was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on September 19, 1960. She was proceeded in death by her first husband S. Wayne Miller whom she was married to for 40 years. After his passing, she married Bill Cunnington and enjoyed another 20 years of marriage, who also proceeded her in death.
Being a mother and raising her family was her greatest joy. She loved being a homemaker and taking care of everyone around her. Some of her favorite hobbies were four wheeling and hunting, especially if she was with family and friends. She enjoyed knitting and sewing; In fact, she knitted Christmas stockings for all her children, spouses and grandchildren. She adored camping with Wayne at their Scofield property and driving the back roads of Utah in their jeeps with their friends and family. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Bill and their RV group in the Western United States. She enjoyed attending various sporting activities for both her children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader and made a tasty snicker doodle.
Dixie was a pioneer in genealogy work and helped many families with their genealogy needs over the years. She sewed window coverings for JCPenney for many years. She worked multiple sewing jobs doing various projects all from her own sewing room. In her later years when her children were raised, she worked with her husband Wayne, stripping the electrical wires and getting them ready for the outlets. Wayne called her his personal stripper! Anyone who knew Wayne knew he was a jokester.
Dixie made friends quickly and was a member of a lady’s club that met once a month for over 40 years, she always enjoyed being with them. When she would come home from New Mexico a few times a year, she always looked forward to going to club and seeing all her friends. She served faithfully in many church callings throughout her life including relief society president, primary president and many other callings. She had a strong testimony of the gospel and her Savoir Jesus Christ. Throughout her trials and challenges over the years her testimony never wavered. She was happiest when serving others.
