Dilworth Leonard Pugh, of Mapleton, Utah, passed away, Monday, June 13th, 2016 at the age of seventy-five. Len was born in Kanab and grew up in Provo Utah. He joined the National Guard in 1960, and then served two-years in the Northeast British England Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and a Masters degree in Business.
Besides having a very successful career in the field of engineering, he worked several years as head of the Mechanical Engineering Capstone Program at BYU, and most recently he taught business at Utah Valley University. On October 7th, 1965 he married Betty Marie Warner in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. Marie and Len had 50 wonderful years raising their five children. During that time, he also served several years working at the Prove temple and then at the Payson temple.
Len is survived by his five children. Daughters: Cheri Schmidt, and Rachelle Vaughn: Sons, Michael, Brandon, and David Pugh. Len and Marie have thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 20, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Mapleton Stake Center, 970 N. 400 E. in Mapleton. There will be a viewing held Sunday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Mapleton Wheeler Mortuary, 82 W. 400 N. in Mapleton or Monday at the Stake Center one hour prior to the services.
