Dodd Meikle Greer

November 9, 1951 — April 1, 2024

Springville

Dodd Meikle Greer, age 72, passed away on April 1, 2024 at his home in Springville, Utah after a nearly six year battle with cancer.

Dodd is preceded in death by his parents, Carr and Margaret Greer, his older sisters June Brown and Joan Gallagher, and older brother Herbert Greer.  He is survived by his older brother, Deon Greer, and his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Cathy Greer, as well as his children Lance Greer, Shauna Marchbanks, Shane Greer, and Kristen Clover.  In addition to his children, he is survived by his 18 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dodd was born and raised in Provo, Utah, graduated from Provo High, and served an LDS Mission to Northern Italy.  Upon returning home, he attended BYU where he met his Wife, Cathy, and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple in 1974.  They made their home in Springville, Utah and never left.  Dodd was a Professional Land Surveyor, a profession and skill passed on from his Father.  Dodd owned and worked for several engineering and survey firms throughout his 50+ year career.  His true passion was traveling, especially to Europe.  A great cook himself, he loved the food in foreign places and tortured his kids with samplings of far-off food he had discovered in his world travels.  Not one to talk very much (unless it was in another language), Dodd showed his children and grandchildren his love and devotion to them in deed more than word.  He could always be counted on to be there to help with any problem.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the friends and neighbors of the Hobble Creek 10th Ward who have given countless acts of service to Dodd and the family through these six challenging years.  They have been the angels surrounding our Father as he finished his shift on this earth.  We would also like to thank Wheeler Mortuary for being so kind and taking care of our Dad through this difficult time.

Friday, April 12th from 6:00-8:00pm there will be a public viewing at Wheeler Mortuary  (212 E 200 S, Springville)
