Donald Kennedy Miner, 87, formerly of Springville, Utah, passed away in St. George, Utah on August 27, 2025. He was born on July 11, 1938, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Jefferson Kershaw Miner and Margaret Loretta Miner. He married Catherine in Las Vegas, Nevada. Don served in the Army National Guard for 4 years.
He was a former Golden Gloves Boxer and Welterweight champion and built Las Vegas into the Boxing Capital of the World. He boxed from 1960-1964 with a record of 19-2 and 9 knock outs. He was inducted into the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame on August 18, 2018.
Don worked for the Clark County in Nevada as an Officer of the Court. He worked with troubled youth.
Don is survived by his wife, Catherine, of St. George, Utah. Stepdaughters Deena and Jamie Denaro. Brothers Richard Miner, Craig (Barbara) Miner and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Miner, Father, Jeff Miner, Sister, Joan Klobucar, Brothers, Glen Miner and Jeff Miner.
Graveside services will be held Monday, September 8, 2025 at 10:00 am at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
