Listen to Obituary

Donna Faye Brayton, age 79, of Orem, Utah was received into her loving Savior's arms on Thursday, January 29th, 2026, with her sister Norma and niece, Vicki by her side.

She was born July 16th, 1946, in Provo, Utah to Stanley and Ruby Brayton and was the 5th of seven children.

Donna grew up in a musical family whose lives were and are devoted to serving the Lord. There was not a day she would miss a church service if she could help it. She was a member of Genesis Project Provo and prior to that, Rock Canyon Assembly of God, a church her family helped pioneer in Provo, Utah. Even with her challenges, Donna achieved many things. As a young child she would sing with 2 of her sisters, not only in church but at other gatherings and activities. She learned to read and write and had an ear for music. Donna had a God given talent for playing the piano and accordion, both of which she learned by ear. She also liked to play the tambourine. She was able to work as a dining room attendant at Denny's and McDonald's. She worked for McDonald's for many years until her retirement.

Donna was a client of TURN Community Services. Their services for the developmentally disabled were integral in helping her live a full and independent life. They hold many workshops and activities, one of which is the Miss Inspiration Pageant. Donna, through hard work and dedication, ended up winning and was crowned Miss Inspiration in 2015, an achievement she was very proud of. She was able to travel to many different places including Hawaii, Disneyland, Disney World, and Dollywood, just to name a few.

She is survived by two sisters, Lillian (Thurman) McCloud of Wendover, Utah; Norma Harper of Mountain Home, Idaho and one brother, Paul (Deann) Brayton of Gig Harbor, Washington along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Ruby Brayton, sisters Martha Matthews, Velma Haggerty and one baby sister, Vera Brayton.

A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
