Dorothy Luzon Clements, 82, of Mapleton passed away peacefully Saturday June 6th at 2:15pm, 2026. She was Born Dec 20th, 1943, in Gunnison Utah, to Earl and Rosa Jensen. Dorothy Married the love of her life Rex G. Clements on May 12 1966, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Beginning a devoted marriage that spanned just over 60 years.
Dorothy dedicated her life to serving others. Early in her career she worked at Barbizon, before becoming a beloved Lunch lady for the Nebo school district. She later worked at the Famous gas station in Mapleton "Hearts" serving many people their favorite drinks and treats. She then carried out most of her working career for the Dept. of Workforce Services holding different positions all while working for American Greeting cards. Wherever she went she built lasting friendship's through her kindness, work ethic and genuine care for people.
Her greatest joy was her family, she loved supporting them and anything that they were into, baseball, dance, wrestling, cheer, academics and other activities that brought them happiness. She never missed an opportunity to encourage those she loved and would always be their biggest fan. She was an Amazing Mother, Grandmother, wife and friend and loved her children and grandchildren dearly.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Dorothy served in many callings throughout her life, including librarian, nursery worker, mutual leader and working in the Temple. She found fulfillment in serving her Faith, Family and community.
Dorothy was also an accomplished Bowler and loved playing softball in her younger years, she was very athletic and successful at anything she put her mind too. She was known for her bright smile, selfless service, generous heart and her left handed closer fastball. She gave many words of wisdom to everyone around her, whether offering encouragement through one of her favorite sayings. Or simply listening with love, she left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, loyal friend and a women whose kindness, strength and unwavering support enriched countless lives.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Rex G. Clements of Mapleton, Her 4 children, Jeffrey Clements, Christie and David Workman, Tiffany and Tracer Roberts, and Matthew and Jen Clements. Her 8 grandchildren Jordan, Mitchell and Giselle, Taysia, Conner and Megan, Tylee and Chandler, Bridger, Skyler and Brooklyn. Her 3 Great grandchildren, Trevyn, Tayler and Ember.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 970 North 400 East, Mapleton, Utah. Viewings for family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Wheeler & Sundberg Funeral Homes Mapleton Location, 82 West 400 North, Mapleton, Utah, and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 12 before the services at the church. Burial will be in the Mapleton City Cemetery.
