Edwin Cozzens, 82, of Springville, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022. He was born February 17, 1940 in Lovell, Wyoming, to Golden Edward Cozzens and Wilma Luise Lynn Cozzens. He was sealed to Janice Cozzens on November 17, 1962 in the Manti LDS Temple.
Edwin was shown two photos of two girls and was told to pick one. He chose Janice. A blind date soon followed and it was love at first sight, one year later they were married. After they married on June 11, 1961 they moved to Laramie Wyoming where Edwin received a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. After finishing college they moved to Moab where they were sealed for time and all eternity November 17, 1962 in the Manti LDS Temple. While in Moab Edwin worked side by side with his brothers as a Civil Engineer surveying the land for the City of Moab and the United States Government. He also served as a Bishop for the LDS church at 28 years old. After living in Moab for 10 years they moved to Provo to work for BYU and raise their four children where he retired from BYU as the Assistant Administrative Vice president after 35 years.
Edwin is survived by his wife Janice Cozzens, brother Steve Cozzens (Linda) his children Carolyn Herrud (David), Craig Alen Cozzens (Gina), Catherine Muse (Garrett), Curtis Cozzens. Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Richard, Don and Wayne. To date, he has 14 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren with two on the way.
