Farrell Grant Hutchings

Farrell Grant Hutchings, born on June 22, 1942, in Springville, Utah, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025, just shy of his 83rd birthday, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather who touched the lives of many with his warmth and kindness.

Farrell dedicated 40 years of his professional life to Geneva Steel, where he was known for his commitment and work ethic. His education began at Springville High School, after which he attended Brigham Young University, further enhancing his knowledge and skills. His service to his country included time spent in the U.S. Army and the Utah National Guard, reflecting his dedication to his community and nation.

An avid fan of the Utah Jazz and BYU, Farrell's passion for sports was a significant part of his life. He found joy in painting pictures, as well as hunting and fishing, activities that reflected his appreciation for the outdoors and creativity.

Farrell is survived by his beloved wife Marla; sons, Kelly and Ryan; daughter-in-law, Stephanie; grandsons, Caden and Derek and younger brother, Ron. He is preceded in death by his parents, Doyal and Donna Hutchings, brother Lloyd "Bud" Hutchings and sister Bella Delores Zirbes.

The legacy Farrell leaves behind is one of love, strength, and resilience. His presence will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know him. A viewing will be held in his honor at Wheeler & Sundberg Funeral Homes located at 211 East 200 South, Springville, UT, on June 28, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
