Glade E. Binks passed away July 25, 2023 surrounded by family. Glade was born October 3, 1934 to Amanda and Norris Binks. He married his high school sweetheart, Collette Palfreyman, on July 28, 1953 in the Manti Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They had five children together.
Glade graduated from BYU in Accounting. He worked at Geneva Steel as an accountant and then started his own accounting business in Springville. He loved setting his own schedule and having the freedom to attend all the sporting events and activities of his children and grandchildren. He loved his family. They were always his priority.
Glade was a talented artist. His specialty was woodworking and turning segmented bowls. His work was featured in several museums. He loved the Jazz and BYU Basketball. Glade loved the outdoors and being outside. He was an excellent athlete excelling in basketball and bowling. He participated in the senior games for 30 years.
Glade loved the Lord. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in various callings. He and Collette loved serving a mission together in Oakland, California. He was a light to all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Blair and Cornell; son-in-law, Dale Oakey; and granddaughter, Danielle Oakey. He is survived by his wife, Collette; and five children: Christine Oakey, Debra Ann Gordon (Keith), Sandra Lee Ostler (Shane), Michael Glade Binks, and Jennifer Reid (Jon); 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Sunday, July 30th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville, Utah. Funeral services will be Monday, July 31, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Springville Stake Center, 245 South 600 East in Springville with a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the service.
