Glenda Darling Osborn

October 20, 1940 — April 3, 2018

Glenda Darling Osborn - loving wife, mother, grandmother and life-long scouter - passed away surrounded by her children on April 3, 2018, due to complications from Alzheimer's. Glenda was born on October 20, 1940 in Lehi, Utah to Gladys Terry Darling and Alvah Ned Darling. She married her eternal sweetheart, William Dale Osborn on Aug 20, 1959 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They have 6 children.

As an early teen, she was blessed to join her Uncle Rex and Aunt Jean Ainge’s family in Payson, Utah and was accepted into their family as a loving daughter and sister. At an early age, she learned to rise above her circumstances and draw strength from the gospel. She graduated from Payson High School. After her children were older, she went back to school and later received her Associates degree to become a legal secretary. From there, she rose to an executive assistant position. She was recognized and admired in her field.

She was a devoted mother and served countless hours in several callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. When her first son turned eight years old and needed a cub scout leader, she volunteered and gave her all to her scouting position. This began a life-long love of scouting where she received many awards, including the Second Miler and Silver Beaver.

In 2000, she accepted a mission call to serve in the Thailand Bangkok Mission with her husband as her companion, where they taught English to school teachers. For Glenda, family was everything. It was a priority to get together often for family dinners, campouts, board and card games, and to meet every holiday. She loved to travel and experience new cultures with her family.

She is survived by her children;  Nedra (Brent) Bingham; Nancy (Darrell) Simonsen; Todd (Katherine) Osborn; Stephen (Cristina) Osborn; Angela (Ron) Terry, and Wendy (Jon) O’Keefe. She has 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sweetheart, Dale, her parents, her loving Uncle Rex and Aunt Jean and one grandson.

Special thanks to Richard and all the wonderful staff at Seasons of Santaquin.

Glenda’s celebration of life will be held on April, 6, 2018 and begin with a viewing at 9:30 AM at the Hobble Creek 1st Ward Chapel, 555 S Averett Ave, Springville.
